How to Activate Your Young Living Essential Oil

Once the cap is open, gently tip the bottom to a 45 degree angle, or completely upend it. Be careful not to touch the orifice reducer, as your skin cells may contaminate the essential oil overtime and lower it action or results. The orifice reducer is the milky white internal plastic covering that keeps the oil from spilling and allows the user to easily get a specific amount of drops from the bottle. Once you drip 1-2 drops of the desired oil into the palm of your non-dominant hand, flatten your dominant hand on top of the hand with the oil and rotate the dominant hand clockwise.

Another way involves taking your dominant hand’s index finger and swirling the drop clockwise 3-4 times--this helps activate the molecules. Our DNA strands follow a clockwise spiral pattern, and the molecules of the essential oil are so small that when you get them moving in a clockwise direction, they'll more readily enter your system by following the direction of the current movement of your body's cellular makeup.

With the essential oil activated in your hands, cut both hands over your nose and breathe in as deeply and as slowly as you can.

Breathe out slowly and fully; you will want to empty the air in your lungs and then take another full deep breath. Do this 3 times, then take the remainder of the oils and rub them on the back of your neck, bottom of your feet, or wrists, or you may simply rub the oils into the palms of your hands until they dissipate. Rub them anywhere you like, but never waste them by washing your hands. The oils are not oily oils and will not feel greasy on your hands or create any stains. Use caution with some of the “hotter” oils around your face and eyes. If you are inhaling Peppermint in this cupping manner, be sure not to get your fingers too close to your eyes. In fact, it's good practice to do the inhalation method with your eyes closed, in a seated position.
