All About Young Living Lemon Essential Oil

ALL ABOUT LEMON

You love Lemon, but did you know that it takes approximately 75 lemons to make one 15-ml bottle of Lemon essential oil?

Cold-pressed from lemon rinds, Lemon essential oil has a strong, purifying, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. It contains 68 percent d-limonene, a powerful antioxidant. Lemon can also be used to enhance the flavor of foods and water and may be beneficial for the skin.

Lemon is also one of Young Living’s most popular essential oils. And, as if it’s not awesome enough, it’s one of the eleven oils included in the Everyday Oils™collection because it is versatile as well as a great choice to introduce people to Young Living.

PRODUCT BACKGROUND Originally from regions in Asia, the lemon tree wasn’t common in Europe until the 16th century. It is a part of the evergreen family and reaches a height of about 20 feet. This is accomplished by cold pressing the rinds of the lemons, producing an oil with the aroma of freshly picked fruit.

So, what is the difference between Young Living Lemon and Young Living Lemon Vitality?

Both Young Living Lemon and Lemon Vitality contain the same essential oil (citrus limon) peel oil; 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil as their only ingredient.

Lemon Vitality is, however, labeled for dietary use and the regular Lemon is labeled for topical and aromatic use. The designation of the two products allows you to share all the ways to use Lemon essential oil in the correct way.

The Vitality line of oils is the same 100% therapeutic-grade essential oils for which Young Living has become known. The Vitality line has been created so that members can now draw clear distinction between topical/aromatic use and dietary use.

Young Living Claims Committee reviews all current scientific research to determine the label for each product. Federal regulations require sufficient scientific evidence to support the label of the product. This means that any Young Living® product will require sufficient evidence to determine usage and following the usage directions will help ensure the safety and efficacy of the product.

I recommend always following the label directions listed on your product label. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any information regarding using the product in a manner other than what is indicated on the label.

CAUTION WITH LEMON

Essential oils are very concentrated. Because of this, many essential oils are incompatible with plastic material. You may want to drink the water immediately as the oils will cause the plastic to breakdown. We feel that it is better to avoid adding essential oils to plastic contains whenever possible. Using a PETE or PP plastic bottle can help, but we recommend switching to glass or stainless steel if you would like to use the same bottle for extended periods of time. The LDPE material we use for the drop reducers is high quality and has been used in the essential oil industry for years. We rarely see any visible plastic breakdown. We recommend always storing the oils upright to ensure that the plastic orifice is not in constant contact with the oils.

Lemon to your face toner is a great idea for night time! Just remember that Lemon essential oil is photosensitive, so be sure to stay out of the sun for 12 hours after applying it to your skin.
